Nainital is one of the most beautiful and iconic hill stations all across the global and India as well. It located in the 28th Indian state Uttarakhand. It falls in the Kumaun foothills of the outer Himalayas situated at on altitude of 2084 meters (6840) above sea level, Nainital is set in a valley containing on eye – shaped lake this hill station has a numbers of peaks like Naina (2600 m ) on the north, Deopatha (2450 m ) on the west and ayuspatha (2280 m ) on the south. From the tops of the higher peaks, “glorious sceneries can be experienced of the vast plain to the south, or of the malls of tangled ridges lying north, covered by the great snowy range which forms the control axis of the Himalayas.

Climate :

Nainital is located at 29.38 n 79.45 c the slopes of the near by mountains are most populated with an elevation ranging from 1900- 2000m the highest nearby is Naina peak or china peak Nainital has a sub – tropical highland climate according to climate classification system, the city’s climate is influenced by 2 elevation . The city is a bit dry during winter and wet during summers due to south Asian monsoon system Nainital is considered to be the best shining diamonds of Himalayan belt. This city has 3 major lakes that contribute to make it cool and calm throughout the year.

Naukuchiyata lake : Literally means lake of nine sides. Is a small hill station in Nainital district of Uttarakhand. The lake is about 175 feet deep and situated at 1220 m above sea level this is surrounded by hills and are fully covered with trees and many kind of snubs. It is the deepest of all the lakes one can experience in Nainital region.

Bhimtal lake:This lake is situated in Bhimtal town, Bhimtal is also a very beautiful hill station. During the summers where most parts of the state are on fire with the heat, Bhimtal is on of such towns that remain cold and visit able. This lake is the largest lake in Kumaun region, known as the “lake district of India” There is an island at the centre of the lake which has been developed as a tourist attraction and has a glorious view around.

Sattal Lak :About 23 km away from Nainital, Sattal is a very beautiful and so serene lake that too falls in Nainital district. The way passes by Bhimtal to reach here. The lake site at on altitude of 1570 meters below lush orchards in the valley. Situated amongst the dense forest of oak and pine trees, This is one of the few unspoiled and unpolluted fresh water biomes in the country. All these lake are a paradise for residential and migratory birds.

Nainital Zoo:Besides all these beautiful and serene lakes, Nainital has a thrilling and sensational zoo too that includes a numbers of animals and birds. Pt Govind ballabh pant Zoo is a high altitude zoo in Nainital. Established in 1984 and opened to public in 1995. It is situated on the Sher ka Danda hill at a height of 2100 meters(6900 ft) above sea leval and is spread over about 11 acres. This is the only high altitude zoo in india after those in Darjling and Sikkim. Over the years it has become much visited and popular tourist place.
